Background

Class project where I had to choose a word that would best describe my art practice and we would use type to describe that word. I chose the word elegant.

Sketch 1: Earrings on a person which has the word "elegant"
Sketch 2: Inspired by a fairytale book cover
Sketch 3: a field of tall flowers

Final

The feedback I got was to choose either sketch 1 or 2 since it was the most interesting and represented the word better. I chose to continue with sketch 2 because I suddenly had a moment of how to take it to the next level. I thought about bringing in the flower idea from sketch 3 and integrating it into the type. I had flower stamen become part of the "E" while also be part of the flower.
