Background

An assignment where I had to paint a "feast" of some kind. I could me literal or metaphorical.

Sketches

I had a ton of thumbnail sketches for this, but I will only show these 4. The left 2 was the literal approach while the right 2 were the metaphorical approach. The right 2 was supposed to be a "feast" of art supplies.

Color Iterations

I decided to go for the 2nd sketch from the left because I never to painted food, only fruits and vegtables. Instead of sketching the food items by hand, I took pictures of what I ate over the next few days. Then, I took those photos and put them together through Photoshop to get an idea of the composition. The food items here from left to right are:
jjamppong, dried seaweed, black bean noodles with fried egg on top, coffee, fried dumplings, chicken, rice, spaghettis with garlic bread, and Coke

The color interations were mainly background colors since the food colors were going to remain mostly the same.

Final

For the final, I ended up using the green color, and I decided to make the shadows a saturated blue because I felt it looked visually appealing.
