Background
I had to choose an article either from the New Yorker or Wired to create a cover. I chose an article from Wired. It is an excerpt from a book. The excerpt was about the specific shaming of others when a silly mistake or accident occurs. Something that would be have been an inside joke among friends can now be a worldwide event. The article even talks about how people make money off of people's pain. This article resonated with me because I'm always afraid that someone is recording what I'm doing or talking about me.
Sketches
Sketch 1: A person is on the floor and people are standing over the person, laughing and recording.
Sketch 2: A person is being squeezed out and the juice is collected in a container. A person is selling the juice to people
Sketch 3: An iteration of sketch 2. A head is being squeezed against the letter "A" and blood is spewing out. People below are cheering for joy.

Final + Mockup
I was told sketch 3 would be too violent, consider it has to be a magazine cover and people would find it uncomfortable. I finalized sketch 2 because I liked the composition more and it conveyed a narrative. I got suggestions to remove the crowd of people, the salesman, to make it clear that there is a phone, and to replace the upvote arrows into thumbs ups.
